Juicy Couture Sweatshops

Why do so many people assume things made in China are bad?

Just because something came from China doesn’t mean it’s not good quality. It’s just that China manufactures so many different things, not everything’s going to be top notch. Many people who turn their noses up on things made in China, just don’t realize what actually comes out of china. Designer brands, Chanel (yes), Juicy Couture, and such all come from sweatshops in China, yet most people wouldn’t call Chanel bad quality. I won’t deny there are a lot of knock-offs and crappy things manufactured in China, but not everything is. The same can be said for pretty much any other country. Sure China has many sweatshops, and many people are against that, but do they realize WE are what keeps sweatshops going? They are simply satisfying the increasing demands of our country. So before we criticize and try to fix other countries, shouldn’t we start by fixing the problems in our own country?

I try very hard to buy made in the US exclusively. It doesnt always work out that way, because very little is actually made here, but I try.

As far as stuff out of china… while I know a lot of designer and top of the line stuff does come from there, I also know there are tons of problem items. A lot of electronics are cheap knock offs, for example. I wouldnt by a lens for my camera at the dollar store whether its made in the US or not, so Im sure not gonna buy a knock off out of china.

Also, they have a problem with lead getting into a lot of stuff, and that is pretty bad.

I dont look at stuff and say, eeewww, made in china… But on the other hand, Im not gonna say, oh wow, made in china, it must be the best item in the world.
