So it’s time to head out to the jewellery store to make that purchase. That massive, life altering purpose. Gulp. Here goes. The store is incredible, diamond jewellery everywhere, such beautiful surroundings, and the staff. Don’t get me started. So helpful and attentive. However, before you get too carried away, just stop and think for a moment. When you look at the price tag on those diamond rings, what are you actually paying for? Is it purely for the quality and cut of the stone and the precious metal? Or are you paying an inflated price to fund the overheads you see all around you – the elegant shop, the bonuses of the sales staff? If you shop for diamond jewellery this way, you might well end up paying well over the odds for your ring.
Online retailers don’t have all these overheads. OK, so it’s not quite as romantic shopping this way, but if you want to save yourself hundreds of pounds, it’s pretty appealing. Believe me. With no expensive leases and rents to cover and no sales staff, online retailers can pass these huge savings onto you, the customer. Go ahead and be “romantic” if you want, but think what you could do with that extra money you could save on diamond rings? It could go towards your wedding or your honeymoon.
