Today was my first day of college and I feel so poor! I feel so out of place!?
First all the cars in the parking lot were like freakin’ Benz and Mustangs. And then I came rolling in with my mom’s old Kia. And then all the girls had fancy Chanel purses and Juicy Couture. And all the students had textbooks, brand new ones. Like they just bought all their new textbooks straight from the school. And I don’t even have any of my textbooks cause I can’t afford even old used ones!! I feel really dumb. Is there anyone else out there like me? lol because I feel so poor here and it’s just a community college! It’s not like I’m at some fancy expensive Ivy league school.
I don’t have a car. I said I used my MOM’s car.
Wow, you’ve got a car? I didn’t get a car until I was in graduate school, and even then it was a piece of crap. Most of my professors also drive old cars – they were grad students once too, and don’t buy something new just because it’s new if the old one works fine. And I can’t say I’d be able to tell if someone had an expensive purse – they all look the same to me, and pretty ugly at that. Don’t worry about it. Not everyone is like that.
