what can i do if my job is giving me the “runaround” ?
I work at Juicy Couture, and during the Christmas holidays i missed 6 days of wok. I have a doctors note for 5 of the days and the last day i had someone cover my shift. The manager said i missed to many days in a row and that have to decide if they should fire me. So now for the past 3 weeks I haven’t made any money because there still deciding if they want to fire me.Every time i ask whats going to happen with my outcome the manager says shes busy or that she is still waiting on the word for our HR department…. What it comes down to is that i need to get paid. but i cant quit because then i wont get unemployment? Can anyone help me… Can i contact the better business bureau? or the HR department? im lost please someone help
First of all start looking for a job immediately. Then go directly to the HR department. DO NOT become angry, hostile of aggitated. Simply tell them that you that you need to know what your status is and what the status of your compensation is.
Don’t bother with the BBB, they are for customer complaints and issues and won’t touch this issue.
The purpose of the company’s HR department is to protect the company from lawsuits so remember that. They are NOT your friend, be responsible and reasonable and polite with them.
