Are people too harsh on Hollister and A&F?
I constantly see people slandering Abercrombie and Hollister. It’s something I really don’t understand, I can see the negativity in the fact that they only employ attractive looking people and the fact that it’s pitch dark in the store.
However I constantly see people saying it’s unoriginal and I wonder if it’s any more unoriginal than the millions of girls who wear pattern tights with brogues from Urban Outfitters claiming to be indie.
Also everyone says the clothes are bad quality and overpriced. Hello? Have you checked out the prices of Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, G-Star, Nike, and the many other shops that sell clothing lines aimed at teenagers. As for the clothes being bad quality – have you touched an A&F hoddie? There is no way that’s bad quality.
The sizes of jeans also go up to a US size 12 for women. This is the same maximum that most stores that are not plus size sell.

Yes, and how is it unoriginal? Actually, A&F came up with the so-called “billboard-style” according to haters. And their beach-y, preppy, casual laid-back style is original; and many other stores copy their style.
