What to wear to an evening wedding reception?
Should I wear a floor-length evening gown or a cocktail outfit (skit and top or short dress? It’s a formal wedding. The reception starts at 6 pm. My evening gown is couture and glamorous and my cocktail outfit is simple and cute. I don’t want to out-dress the bride or be under-dressed, either.

If it’s designated ‘black tie’, then you wear the gown. Otherwise, a shorter dress is fine.
